Cleats are commonly used on boats for tying heavy objects. They provide a non slip means of affixing most ropes and have a variety of applications. I designed this obscure shape 5 years ago as an ergonomic part to another project. I was delighted to raise it from the dead by printing it as an exploration to its possible application on boats. I would love to cast this out of aluminum some day.
This part was initially intended as an anchor point for hanging a sling through the centre line of a bag thus creating two slings.
